Basic Cementing Tutorial

Hey guys

It's been a while since I last posted, I made some simple cementing tutorial for my group, which is Brunei Plamo Group (still under construction) Feel free to comment if I do something wrong.

The cemented part, where you put cement from each side and clasp them

together to produce excess cement. Leave them for 24 hour for the cement to cure.

After 24 hour, I can start to file them... lightly.

Remember to check the surface after every stroke.

And stroke again

You can see the burrs forming on the side

you can cut off the excess cement with a craft knife too.

Wet sanding time~~ 400 grit abrasive paper ready.

Andd..... Start sanding.

Check the surface again

clean it up~

Here's My signature move~!! The nail buffer technique~

The black nail buffer grit has a smoother texture compared to 600 grit,

so I'm satisfied with the result

Here' the finished result.

Now. prepped for painting/spraying

This is what I do to each and every parts that has nubs on it. Have fun trying it out~!

Hobby Base 1/144 Mechanical Hands Review

Ola people!

After further delays of un-assembled mechas and lots of stressful work that I nearly completely forgotten about this old blog of mine(Maybe I should switch to WP instead eh?) I came across one day a support kit that can change the whole life of 1/144 HG kits forever! I first saw it from Gundam Guy and I was totally engrossed by it, took me month to gather information and looking for suppliers, at long last, today our favorite local Hobby shop CH-Toynation, was selling this only stuff and I just closed my eyes and brought it. Without further adieu, here it is.

Like so. Sarge is inspecting all the material.

Be VERY CAREFUL about this micro joints!

They are very, VERY small and can be easily disappear

if not handled correctly.

These are pegs for the wrist connectors. The longer version,

and the shorter version.

The thumbs, each joints are bendable!

MC Hi-Nu Gundoom WIP Part 2 Revised

Not much to say around here parts, just that I got so frustrated with the pla-plates (0.3mm) I gave the right forearm another shot.

So there you have it...I dunno If you can see it that well

plated over the damaged part, then add a few small bits

of 1mm and a portion of cable tie XD lame idea came the last minute.

A few more stressful work, a few more plates, nuff' said.. Here we go!

adding a few more plates...

Pla-plating is poison...

so here it is, I sawed off the circular peg in the middle and made it into

an "I" shape insertion. for easier disassembling.

Added more plates, so it looks like a power meter for the rifle heheh..

Holes and panel-scribe... Very tedious, but the end product is fun nonetheless

plates on chest... poisonous.. very poisonous...

Need your feedback. Is this a good idea?

MC Hi-Nu Gundoom WIP Part 1

When the Sarge is done for the entry, I thought I'd give this new... (I dunno whether you wanna call it a bootleg or not, but it looks way cool than the original) kit a chance to shine with a new addition pla-plates and a brand new art/craft knife. After analyzing through and through about the kit, I started out with the shoulder.

Very Tedious job these....

I measured the top angle and the bottom of those middle space

and measure it onto the plate, which is very hard to do, since the plate

does move a lot, especially when you have greasy fingers!

And that's just the shoulder pads!

I'm winging it on those side plates, made sure they were of the right

rectangular side.

And on that side too... the yellow thing down there is the new art/craft knife,

with a dozen blade spares that can be put inside the yellow canister!

Oh.. rubber grip... I like XD

This is the sword forearm, I kinda wanna do the trapezium shaped,

but thanks to my greasy hands the measurement was F***ed and in the end I

made it look like stone steps going uphill in a village.. =.='

the scribbling sucks, I pressured that line to make it visible. *mind note* next time, make it subtle!!

This was kinda easy/not easy to make, since I have to scale it down.

And... Last but not least...

Nothing related, this is one of those day when you are having a

break and crazy thing comes to mind XD XD XD

Right guys I'm gonna go straight to the point, After looking at the Gundoom review, I must say I was pretty amazed with the functionality of the parts, with the plastic composite was near to Bandai-grade and its availability in Brunei, I was also sure I was never gonna get it.

To my surprise tonight while I was shopping around at a certain shopping mall to my usual gundam sale spot in Miri, I was shocked as an old woman getting a discount sale at a supermarket. Originally I was there to get some tools and other stuff, but this guy showed up unexpectedly behind a glass panel.

Yup, This guy says it all...

Hey people!

IT's been a while since I last post something up in here, due to the fact that I have been running around like an idiot keeping my job right, despite the political "TAI-CHI" which basically mean, I push my problems to you, so you can be blame for everything, with a lot of stress build-up, I decided to trail off my daily work routine, go home, and build this...

This is one cool kit, with a pair of STABBING hands

and a pair of GROPING hands... Heh..

Articulation is no different from the previous model, AV-98 Ingram.

This one is piloted by Kanuka Clancy

And a shield, loving those ventilation holes

The upper head unit can be moved to reveal those ridiculously large

optical visualizer.

This one I like very much

Honestly, I haven't seen the movie yet, so I don't know anything

regarding this hand extension thingy...

A Shape Of Things To Come...

Been a long time since I got married and my poor old blog accumulating dust over a few month, now that I've settled in and eased down, it's time to move back up to the gunpla world and keep on working, but first...

NINJA GETTO!!

EOS 60D Canon, after a long line of camera selections, I managed to convinced the bank to turn their tails and do their work as if nothing happen and I get this! Muwahahahahah!!!

But seriously this camera is off the hook, and along with Canon 430EX II speedlite, I'm in a temporary DSLR haven... until my wife slapped my head that brought me back down to earth...

Now lets get some test shots!

No one else would do, she's my only model heheh...

I only watch the battle of OO & reborn then Exia & O gundam, and as for the rest, I tried to get into the motion of watching gundam from the start and see whats all the fuss about, but in the end, I didn't watch them.Why? Oh.. I don't know... Bad subtitles maybe?

The thing is here, what I like, I get & what I like but no money, I get it at the end of the month. It's as simple as that. I don't get it why some people would wage war over something that's not even theirs to begin with. And with Ngee Khiong blog as my main information/source to get, I'm happy with it.

Today, this afternoon, I met David John in his apartment for an open house of another collector, Kira (this guy got some serious HOT TOYS! no kidding...) and since we were waiting for the time to go, He taught me something along the way.. that, is a secret.. heheh oh and by the way here's Sarge getting the star treatment.

1st. Using his Super close-up lens, I managed to get this small picture of

a model snake, which is the same size as instant noodle.

and here's Sarge on his scooter, doing some pose that we made up.

Drafting a soldier

A day after Arissa(NOT marissa... sorry) was born, I bought this little guy to commemorate the celebration of her birth. HG RGM-79c, this time along with some new spray cans arsenal, took me 3 hours of snap fitting, wet sanding(does wonders, it does!) filing, and more sanding, this guy was done in no time! This is the 1st time I build a mass production model, I'm calling him Sarge! I skipped WIPs hew hew hew...

So Sarge is done with all the panel lining...

Sarge: Soldier!!! Why is this table a mess???

me: Hey! Who you calling a soldier?

Sarge: then who the heck are you?

Me: uhmm... Commander

Kampfer: self proclaimed bastard...

me: OII!!!

Articulation is somewhat ok by me, a little modification to the front skirt, and it was time

for decals!! this is also my 1st attempt to do a full scale decal with stickers

and dry transfer

And his all done!

And also... top-coated!!

looks like all the decal was painted to the body, sweet!

Sarge got a good thing going there

Unfortunately for him, that's all the extension limit of what his legs can do,

but very quite balanced.

And he's also ready to have a CQC

WALL MOUNTED CABINET!!

Thanks to an idea from my best mate Hitori,I installed a wall cabinet!

It's actually just a shelf... BUT! With proper tools and material.. now lets get started!

P.s. Ignore the fat guy...

I lift the shelf to the wall and mark the positions

In this small project I have a very good mechanic/repairman/ anything he's good at to

drill the wall.. I just got back from work so I'm tired hehe

first he drills it...

then using his spiral energy, he's drilling it a bit larger... John would love to drill holes

at his spare time.. I think... LoL

now the green thing here is called a plug, it's an inch long and it is used

when you want to screw something to the wall.

uhmmm.... I don't know How that get into the picture...

And those things are called set angle brackets, different designs but same function

So we screw that brackets into the wall

here's the shelf already mounted, in order to avoid the shelf to topple

over, I cut the plug in half to act as a washer, and screwed it upwards to the shelf

and so... tadaaa!!!!

Looks entertaining on the back, probably some of

Years and years ago this very boxset I have now, costs BND70 at the time... Worth the wait huh?

Masurao WIP part 1

Hey Fellas,

It's about time that I build Bandai kit again, So I started out with My only HG at the moment which is Masurao. I don't fancy HG that much because it's much too small for my hands to mod, carve OR let alone paint, but at this point, Masurao is kinda appealing to me and I decide to try it out.

1st thing 1st, I look for the base stand LoL

A little primer and matte black, looks cool

I can't figure out why the back unit looks like a fan...

One of the reason I don't build HG much.

How am I gonna paint the eyes...

My hands are too big.. LoL

Recently I acquired an air compressor, but to my dismay, I was exceeding my budget and the compressor was cheap enough to be bought... So I went and showed it to my close friend who also is a gunpla-builder (Low profile character) and come up with the idea how to make it into and air brush compressor and also, compare to the pricing for the original stock air-brush compressor.

Here it is... These pictures were taken from my

Plug head, Price: BND1.80

Since the compressor is a direct plug, every time we switched on,

it just starts, so he fixed a relay switch into it.

Price: BND1.10

This is a pvc cable(much looks like and aquarium hose)

Price: BND2.50/meter

he use 2 meter

Double aquarium valve!! just in-case something got block in the hose,

there's always a failsafe system

PRICE:BND3.50

This is the compressor, 55W, one of the most expensive item

PRICE:BND60

The compressor wasn't earthed, so he fixed it too, remember

always check your equipment for safety!!

The 2nd expensive item is the nozzle

Now lets see the price of a Tamiya Air compressor...

the runners are prepainted, I like it..

Master Gundam W.I.P part 1

One of the great pending of mine is one of my favorite (I dunno why) with it's complicated parts and joints... I think...

I clearly remember on the box that there was another version... with a cape.

Like I said.. pending...

This has to be done carefully tho, I had to follow instruction in a very detailed manner, but in the end, there's always "Oh F***!! wrong part!!"

You thought it was simple...

I'd like to think so, but unfortunately... excellent movement though...

This is ok enough... NOT! that hanging suspension always falls off when turned to different angle.

What interests me, is that even at a slanted angle, the joints can stay together balanced, I did the tip-toed pose here, and it stood perfectly.

Combat works - A bit gone bad

Here's the work I'm.... uhm.. working on... I completed snap-fitting Combat-san, just that some seam lines irks me when I was fixing up the skirt. So I decided to cement the leg parts up....

then something happened....

So yeah, here I tried to "SOFTEN" the decals... turns out that the sticker type thinggie doesn't work well with it..

There is definitely something wrong with this part, some are seamed tight, but it left something which I'm very annoyed with...

Same goes with this one...

And this one too...

So all in all, this is a proof that I am still a NOOB when it comes to sealing up the seam lines... =.=' nuff said..

Hi gang! here's the story, my wife bought something for in Sabah while i was working back home, I was excited when I saw the box, but something hit me that wasn't quite right, a perfect grade Zaku doesn't come with a small MG size box, turns out, she bought me a rare item, it's a PG Zaku custom set clear body & weapons!
